Welcome to 1978 / Art shoots videos of bands
« on: October 10, 2014, 12:18:38 PM »
The iPhone is a mind-blowing device for a number of things but its ability to shoot high-quality 1080p video in low light with decent audio is one of the best. In this thread I will post videos I have taken of bands I have seen.

Subject: Formula Change Again?

Hello and thanks for taking the time to read this.

I live in Connecticut. I started drinking Schlitz several years ago, a few years before the Classic '60's formula came out. I drank it off and on more for nostalgic reasons than taste, but when the Classic '60's version came out, I was blown away by the better taste and obvious upgrade in quality over the plain Jane cheap stuff. So I drank more Schlitz - a lot more. Twelve pack after twelve pack after twelve pack, all delicious. Clean and crisp, just like the old commercials.

Then one day, several months ago, something changed. I opened a fresh 12 pack of Schlitz, and the first beer tasted "off." The second beer did too. Not sure how to describe it - not skunky or old, but more like a weird chemical taste. Maybe "chemical" isn't the right word. Just not good. My wife had tossed down a few Schlitzes with me on occasion, so I asked her to try one. I told her I thought it tasted funny, and she grimaced after one swig and confirmed that, yes, this beer didn't taste like it usually does. Hmmm.

I threw the 12 pack away, and bought another one. The same thing happened, the same funny "off" taste. I (reluctantly) decided to wait before buying any more Schlitz for awhile. A couple of weeks later my boss, knowing that I love Schlitz, bought me a couple 12 packs... yep, same thing. It tasted nothing like the '60's Formula Schlitz that I had been buying for the past couple of years, nothing at all like that delicious, crisp beer. Real weird. Again, I threw the beer away.

I tried again a couple weeks later. The date on the 12 pack was super fresh, but it still was undrinkable. I drank one half of one beer and threw the rest of it away. Then, haha, my boss bought me two more 12 packs. You can guess the rest. Not good.

What happened? You had to have changed something. It was SO good... now the package stores around here are starting to drop it, I've noticed. Other people must be noticing the taste change and giving up on it. Oh well, I always wondered what "real" Schlitz used to taste like back in the day, at least I finally got to find out, if only for a little while. I know I'm not mistaken - something changed. Please, if you could, change it back!

Found this Podcast on iTunes, From Out of Nowhere. It is done by a couple of guys in Ohio and their recent ones have some cool interviews with people like Dick Wagner and Eric Bloom.

Good for long drives or morning commutes.

Anyone else get this?

It sounds really good. Way more bass and definition. Ezrin was limited in not having all the original tracks separated but he has adjusted what he had. Liner notes were a good read. Ace's newly "found" solo for Sweet Pain is OK. Can see why they went with Dick Wagner's solo originally.

CRASS COMMUNICATION: The Metal topic!!! (by BRAINS)

ATTN: artcinco

I was watching King Diamond on That Metal Show this weekend. Good interview. His health seems to be much improved, so I am licking my chops in anticipation of a small U.S. tour in the near future.

Anyway, he briefly mentioned something about one of his cats - the black one named Magic. He said the cat did something when it died and then wouldn't go into details. Something spooky and otherworldly, I assume.

Do you know what he was talking about? If not, can you ask Krawdad if he knows since he is the only other person I know who likes King Diamond. Spare no expense in finding the answer. As for your time, I cannot think of a better use of it than to solve this mystery for me.

Thanks :D

My guess is the cat dressed up as a nun and then died.
